A skier since the age of two, Marta Bassino showcased her smashing talent on the snow from day one. After winning the Trofeo Topolino, the unofficial World Championships for young skiers, she went on to win a gold medal at the 2014 Junior World Championships. The same year she debuted in the World Cup and was instantly regarded as one of the most outstanding giant slalom skiers of her generation. She competes in all disciplines, but her strongest one is the giant slalom. She dominated the 2020/2021 season, winning four of the first five giant slalom races on the calendar, and finishing on the podium in the sixth one – a third place in the home event in Kronplatz, Italy.
